As players progress through the multi-chapter story, they find themselves lost in places like the Ice Age during the final meteor showers that killed the dinosaurs, the hellscape of a post-apocalyptic future where man is pitted against machine, the high tides of the Industrial Age where coal-burning mills blot out the sun, China during the Han Dynasty and the advent of fireworks, the mythological age of Ancient Greece, and even the western front of World War One where explosions of mustard gas and dog-fighting airplanes make it nearly impossible to save the carrier pigeons flying above the battlefield.
